donations

One of our goals is to increase the knowledge and skills of drag artists so they can feel more comfortable in mending and repairing items. We will hold monthly workshops and would like to have a variety of materials on hand for our makers to work with. Our workshops will be free or low cost  so that all can participate.

As part of this, can you help us collect broken jewelry, leftover textiles or other sewing supplies? Donations will help us reach more people via workshops and reduce textile waste while encouraging creativity and a maker's mindset. We have very few rules, however please ensure that all donations are freshly laundered as we do not have the space nor capacity to do this. Damaged items are accepted as we might turn these into offcuts.

Accepted for donation

• Natural fabrics like cotton, wool, linen, silk, leather
• Felt, spandex/lycra, sequined, organza, lace, PVC, fake furs
• Dance or sport costumes
• Formal, prom, or bridal gowns
• Offcuts (small fabric remnants) 
• Buttons, zippers or other fasteners
• Beading, jewels, pearls, rhinestones, feathers, etc
• Broken jewelry 
• Sewing patterns for clothing, gloves or hats
• Sewing tools (pins, scissors, pins, needles, seam rippers, etc)
• Mannequins, dress forms, hat forms
• Workroom machinery such as sewing machines, steamers, irons, glue guns, etc in working condition

Not accepted for donation

• Underwear or socks
• Swim costumes
• Towels
• Bedding 
• Curtains
• Soft furnishings, pillows
