Drag Marketplace started because there simply isn't anything like it on the market now.

There are many amazing places to get new drag items online. But when you are looking for second hand, where do you go? Although some performers buy and sell items on social media like Facebook or Instagram, there is not a dedicated marketplace for second hand drag items. Marketplace sites such as Vinted, Depop and eBay do exist, but they do not cater specifically for the drag audience. 

Because drag can be very expensive, creating a second hand marketplace just makes sense. Instead of supporting the destructive fast fashion industry and its overuse of chemicals, land and resources, Drag Marketplace helps extend the life of clothing, which is better for the environment. A circular drag economy also encourages artists to improve their mending and making skills, saving items that are damaged and inspiring creative and innovative new designs. It also creates a community of learning and caring in a supportive environment. And in today's backwards world, we definitely need more support and LOVE. 

We are starting small, with local pop up events and workshops in the UK. Our online marketplace tool is in development, along with much, much more - watch this space! 

Drag Marketplace was dreamt up by Alicia in 2024. As a business and innovation consultant working with global companies, she is quick to recognise a customer need and a gap in the market. 

In junior and senior school, Alicia was hanging out backstage (or onstage!) with the theater kids. In the 90s and early 2000s, you may have spotted her in the crowd at legendary bars such as The Cabaret in Kansas City or the The Abbey in Weho (Hollywood), wearing sequins or lycra and a very skinny brow (it was the 90s after all!!). Alicia is proud to be an advocate for LGBTQI+ and disability rights for nearly 30 years.

She is passionate about treasure hunting for thrifted and second hand clothing, bags, shoes, jewelry, furniture and art, giving unwanted items the love and home they deserve.
